Is my tinting strategy sound?

I mainly tint for the UV protection and for a bit of opaqueness, but I don't like tint that's particularly dark.

Up till now, I've always tinted my cars 35% VLT in the rear, 50% on the driver's sides, and 70% on the windshield (Which admittedly is still a hair darker than California's 70% sides and 0 tint on the windshield)

My G30 is the first car I've had that has 70 marked on the glass. I've read that it doesn't necessarily mean 70% VLT, but rather up to 70%.

To get the equivalent of what I normally prefer, should I do 50% on the rear, 70% on the driver's sides, and find a clear UV film for the windshield? That would calculate to a max 50%*70%= 35% on the rear, 70%*70% = 49% on the sides and 100% * 70% = 70% on the front, although it might be a lot lighter depending on what the real VLT of the glass is.

It sounds a little silly to tint with such a light tint, and I'm not even sure if there is a clear UV only film except Llumar Air 85, which is still 87% VLT, and thus 87%*70%= 60% Equivalent VLT.
