Honestly I don't see a lot more than mere speculation. Current 520d does 4.5l/100km and has 184hp, so I suppose that the next entry level four cylinder could easily do 4.0l/100km with circa 200hp. Pure electric 5er would be better than a hybrid, because it's simpler and lighter and anyway the 50km range in ev mode in 2020 is a bad joke. I truly hope that bmw keeps rear-wheel drive in its lower end models but honestly i'll buy a m235i as soon as i'm able to.
