BMW is a commercial company and the markets outside the core ones ( i.e: enthusiasts like us ) need to realise China is where the future profits lie and where they must compete.
I think it's fair to say BMW's DNA has become diluted, the others have caught up, several years ago the dynamic gap between MB Audi etc was large, now it is perceptible to those of us to who it matters but not to the general public. Engines especially, there are still some outstanding units but the advantage BMW had from M power units to 2L diesels has eroded.
We must hope they put enough resources into maintaining the brand which they built into the drivers car of choice.....
