I think it is safe to say a lot of people will not play uncompressed or "lossless" formats through such a system, meaning most people will not be fully taking advantage of it (like I am not). But then my ears and brain are not discerning enough to appreciate the difference — it does definitely sound good even with satellite radio as the source. Though even I can tell the difference between satellite and lossless formats, of which I have some.
