It is the lowest as far as I know, lower than so called gas-mileage friendly cars such as the latest Toyota Prius, Tesla model S, and Hyundai ioniq: 0.24. The Mercedes CLA has a 0.23 CD. Only the future Tesla model 3 will have a lower CD of 0.21 and it does not need big air intakes to cool the engine like the 5 series (well it dones not have a thermal engine)... And of course it's not on the market for at least a year...

Low Drag Coefficient is not only important for gas mileage, but also low noise levels inside the cabin for example...

This is quite an achievement from BMW, too bad the overall shape of the car is quite conservative and doesn't reflect the amazing technology behind it...

The achievement is making an aerodynamic car in the shape of a traditional, classy-looking sedan.
Some would say boring and uninspiring design...
