It's a rumour because unlike the cars you mention which has a verified lighter weight. The M5 weight is just hearsay at the moment. It's not confirmed by BMW yet..

Of course it should be no problem to loose weight with new tech, and BMW can certainly achieve it. But I said it's a rumour, because it's not confirmed and the next gen are still many years away. It might even be a larger loss of weight...
