Whats up everyone.

So I am really wanting to purchase a 2020 M550i as I see no need to spend the extra cash for an M5, especially since this is just a 100% street car.

But I'd like to mod it as far as it can go and still remain reliable. I have researched as much as I can on Youtube.com.

RK Tunes seems like a good tune choice. Has anyone used them?

They took an M550i with an intake, DP's and a basic tune that made 486 WHP / 589 WTQ......then they retuned it and it made 641 WHP / 670 WTQ......all on 93 octane.

Is that about the max we're gonna see on 93 octane?

Figuring out these engines in all of these BMW's has been pretty confusing. Is the 2020 M550i the 4th Gen that does not have all the issues I keep learning about as the older versions? Do I need to worry about modding it to 641/670 WHEEL........and have anything fail? No hard launches at a drag track, just a street car mainly doing rolling start runs at all different speeds.

Also, anyone know of good BWM shops in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami that I can have work on my car and maintain it?

Welcome to the club. You should looking into the Carbahn or Dinan tunes. Very reputable BMW tunes.

If you don't increase the tire size, then the increase in horsepower will not be usable. You will probably need at least a 305 in the back and a 275 in the front. Since your car is probably still under warranty, it is likely you will void the warranty. These cars are incredibly expensive to repair unless you can do the repairs yourself. Even an aftermarket warranty company will walk away when they find out the car has been modded.

The DME is locked much tighter on the 2020 and newer models than the '17, '18, & '19 model years. Your tuner will need the knowledge to unlock. Also, should you run into any warranty issues BMW will be able to see tuning mods. Down pipes and a piggy back tune are probably a little more warranty safe than doing a DME tune.
