Remus Axle Back (540i) too quite?

I just installed a used Remus Axle Back exhaust. Is it me, or is it too quiet? Like it's maybe 15% louder than the stock exhaust, even in sport mode.

I haven't yet installed my Active Autowerke 4.5" 400 cell catted downpipe. Will it get louder when I do that? If so, what type of louder? Throatier or raspier?

I'm also probably going to delete the intake resonator, but I don't want it to be raspy louder. I want it to be throaty louder.

The downpipe will definitely make it louder

I have never heard it in person but I do know the g30 is pretty well insulated. If you decide you don’t want the exhaust I’ll buy it 😁

I'm in the exact same boat. I just installed the Remus and am still very underwhelmed by the sound, the note is nice but it feels like I have to be WOT above 4k rpms to hear anything exciting. Mind you, I have the Dahler module installed so my valves are fully open. The only time the car sounds "loud" is on cold start. I too have a 400 cell downpipe I'll be installing as soon as I get my ECU back from ARM Motorsports (bench unlock) and flash MHD. I already feel bad enough about how loud the cold start is so I don't want to put the downpipe on until I can code out the cold start.

I actually like the sound of the cold start but it goes away immediately upon putting it into gear. I don't understand the logic behind that and it's kind of annoying.

cold start is used to heat the cats for emission reasons and better mpg.
Once that procedure is completed it goes back to normal sound.

if thats too quiet, its time to add the downpipe.

I also have a G30 540ix with a Remus cat back exhaust. I recommend you guys download the Bimmerlink App to your phone and switch on the "Exhaust Valve Open" option and if youre tuned with BM3 or MHD, go to your burble settings and increase the duration a little and turn up the aggression of the burbles.

My 540i with sports cat DP and Remus axle back:

I wouldn't want it any louder. I found the Remus axleback alone changed the tone to be a bit deep but increase in volume was only noticeable when going on full boost. The g30 cabin is very well insulated

With the 400 cell cat on, it's loud enough for me, though it still really only kicks in under heavy throttle, even in sport mode. Might look into that bimmerlink setting.

I don't really want more pops and burbles, but if the comfort mode could sound more like the sport mode, I think I'd be happy.

Is it normal for a Remus/Sport Cat combo to be extremely tinny and raspy on startup? Sounds off, to me.
