Also any general feedback on the idea of trading a 2022 Lexus with 5k miles for a 2019 X7 with 23k miles. Obviously the X7 is the nicer vehicle. Just never traded backwards in time before. But she drove one and it was awesome. Not very impressed with the GX for what she needs (a comfortable and tech heavy around town family SUV). Lesson learned for her - don't buy without trying it first. I tried to tell her…
About a month ago I, for a day I had an x7 loaner. It had a couple hundred miles on it. Interior space was incredible. Fucking thing just went on and on and on. My first thought when driving it was this is the ultimate road trip machine. Had the automatic cruise control radar thingy. It was a 40i but it surprisingly had some pep at 30-50mph range considering what it was hauling around. I'd imagine on the highway overtaking would take some forethought. Kids (4&6) loved it "LOOK AT ALL THE BUTTONS" and I did too. Automatic folding 2nd and 3rd row etc. Had Merino leather which was great and glass controls (wasn't a fan). Think the sticker was $85k so about the same as my 550. It's a monster tho, for my Situation I would get a highly option to X5 or maybe even a X5 m50 or whatever the fuck they're calling it. I'm not proofreading any of this so grin and bear it.

X7 - Luxo barge. Too big for my liking. Nice ride though. I test drove the x3, x5 and x7. Like meatdingo, the x5 was my favorite

I agree with a lot of that but she loved it when she test drove. Also drove a new GLE. The GLE was obviously nice but I think I'd like the X5 ride better. But she wants a barge.

I'm nervous about any bugs with it being a first year model and also about 22" wheel with maintenance and tires.

Folks, I’m a digital nomad so I can’t keep many cleaning supplies. What’s the best way to clean the interior - especially around the doors which pick up dirt a lot from your feet? Grab some BMW cleaning wipes? I just vacuum the Napa leather dash and that seems fine.

If she wants the barge x7 will fit the bill, it was a great suv for a cruiser. There may be some solace that the model has been out long enough so if there are any hiccups they probably have been resolved or are known about. There's something to be said about the stature of how big it is too, it'll be a statement piece. You're gonna make room when this mf thing comes your way.

We both prefer the older design to the 2023. Opposite for the Benz. Benz would have to be 2020 or newer. Still on the search for a 2020 GLS to test drive.

Yep. I just drove one and it's a different deal for sure. I liked it a lot. Would say it is comparable to the ride on the 740 loaner I had a while back.

She just drove an X5 and said it drives fun but no dice. It's just not big enough. The GLE seems slightly bigger. She said she'd drive the X5 if we didn't have kids. Said sport mode was fun I had to wait at the dealer with the kid.

Dozens of options, but a micro fibre towel and something like this :- Gtechniq - I2 Tri-Clean will do pretty much everything.

You can, obviously, get cleaners for every part of the interior, from plastic, to carpet to leather, some do pretty much all, to a degree.

Have you guys looked at the Kia Telluride ? I love that mofo.
Unfortunately, the Stealerships are marking them up from $5-10k because they are so popular. The thing I like about them is they can actually TOW something as well. None of that stupid ass belt driven CVT transmission bullshit.
The interior is very nice as well and they all are maxed out with options.

I always see a murdered out telluride on the way into work. They look great and I'm sure they have all the tech functions like zeh german cars. I'd imagine it's probably not "big swinging dick" enough for this situation.

My favorite is that olive green color they have with the caramel/tan interior and blackout ext package or whatever they call it. I had one exactly like that it 2 yrs ago before Covid on a build. What a dumbass I am.........LOL

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there! This woman isn't going to drive anything without and L, a star, or the blue and white.

New but related question - anyone ever ask a dealer to swap wheels on a CPO vehicle? The 22" rims are a big hindrance for me. They have another black X7 with the 21" wheels (double the mileage). What are the chances a dealer would swap those out?

I have a new but good relationship. Just bought a car from them 8 months ago. And send the GM a glowing review of the service that I got from everyone, by name, from sales to financing.

Would love to hear any feedback or experience. I'll peruse the X7 forum, but thought I'd ask the guys I'm familiar with also.

I tried to tell her…
I had one for two years. It's a great highway cruiser, very roomy and comfortable, absorbs the road imperfections well. Around town, it feels bloated on tight streets and garages. It would have been better with rear wheel steering.

Good feedback for me. I'm only worried about the highway because she's the one driving it in traffic everyday. Haha

I'd imagine they'd do it if the other one has more mileage on it and the 22"'s are more expensive.

You can, obviously, get cleaners for every part of the interior, from plastic, to carpet to leather, some do pretty much all, to a degree.
But then I have to keep and wash the micro fiber towel no? That’s the hard part!

I read this exchange to my wife and the friends we had over for dinner and everyone was dying laughing because it's so funny and spot on.

With the wheel exchange… I feel like it would be no big deal since I'm on the "losing" end of the swap. But if that one is also CPO, there might be a requirement that it come with the wheels on its original spec sheet. But I'm going to ask him on Monday.

This was kind of my deal buying my car with the same people. I don't haggle a bunch about price, I already know how it stacks up before I call. I spend the energy asking for other accommodations here and there and I stay consistent with what I want.

Throw it away after you're done then, problem solved! Never seen bmw wipes but I imagine they won't offer anything in the way of plushness and you could end up marring any gloss finishes. Unless you're a complete slob or go months without cleaning the interior you'll get a couple cleanings with a microfiber before having to wash it. I keep mine folded up in the glove box and touch up here and there.
