As a matter of fact, the F30, in EU at least, have infinitely variable high-beam assist as an option & that feature is not available on any other BMWs apart from the F01/2 LCI & 6er, & that's only if they have the LED headlamp option. |

Audi A6 has very strong sales in Germany, this may be the reason for BMW to do this LCI, to be back on top. Also E Class will switch to a new generation soon.

No no no!!! If I wanted a 3-series I'd buy a 3-series. Whats with this trend of getting a uniform look across all the models?

Remember this is just a render from a car magazine, and BMW is very early in the development so I guess the design details in the front etc is not decided yet.
It was alot of positive reading in what Scott has written. Carbon fiber, same platform as the next 6 and 7 , efficient engines and so on. I guess the car will be very premium and state of the art when it shows up. Right Scott ? :-) But I agree that the LCI came pretty early. There we lost 10-20% value in the used car marked on our "old" F10/11. Last edited by Touring; 06-21-2012 at 03:42 PM.. |

Think about the E60 5 series...it came out as a 2004 model... And the E60 M5 came out as a 2005 model (2006 in North America only). The E60 LCI came out as a 2008 model (2/3 years after the E60 M5 came out, which is the same timeline they are suggesting for the F10 LCI) Now think about the F10 5 series...it came out as a 2011 model...and the F10 M5 came out as a 2012 model (2013 only in the US, but Canada and Europe got it as a 2012 model. makes sense to me...

2017 seems early. only a 6 year run on f10? it started MY 2011 right? LCI on year 4 doesn't seem too bad tho.

Agreed but with this render it now appears that 3 = 5 = 7(?) which is just not acceptable. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the new 3-series nose and replicating that on a 5er is just cruel and I really hope this is someone's imagination and not really the direction BMW is taking for the future.

Oh Please...they didn't even have good renders for the f10 5 series until 6 months before launch.
No way they know what the new BMW's are gonna look like in 5-6 years. LCI is for 2014/2015 model year. |

Also, lets see how much debt/credit North AMericans have to throw around on buying BMW's...they're already living so far above their means, buying 5 series and other consumable goods.
Europe is getting hammered. By 2017, BMW may not be selling as much as they think. Asian economies (china, india) are slowing down and they are loaded on debt too. This can't last. Rather off topic though. |
