540i G31 was to be my next car but they only have it with xDrive from the start which I don't want
As I'm decided on the RWD I now have a dilemma: 530d or 540i xDrive? I hate compromises! |

BMW USA is committed to X models, but I would much rather have this in rwd with a dedicated summer/snow setup. I drive my 335is year-round in northern WI...
This is a beautiful car, IMHO. Well done. |

Please please please make an M5 wagon and let's put all the Audi avant enthusiasts in check! Haha. But seriously. M5 wagon = winner.

A handsome, yet predictable estate 5 series from BMW.
Compared to the E Class, there is much less luggage room, which is one of the main points of these estates: 5 Touring: 570 – 1,700 litres E Class: 640 - 1,820 litres Of course it won't be available in some markets and denominations (V8's).

It looks great and it's practical. You get the extra space of an SUV, but it still has the driving dynamics of a car and handles well. I'd definitely pick one of these up as a 540 or 550 if BMW brought it back to the US market.

I don't understand why these Germans do not think that there is a market for Vagens here in the U.S. I'm assuming that according to market analysis, fat Americans would rather buy SUVs than Wagons because they can fit more groceries inside of it?

Volvo is bringing their V90 wagon to the US. Perhaps the success of that wagon (it also looks good) will help justify wagon sales in the US again. Or not...

Morons. Instead, they will spend untold money and effort to create and market another 5 series GT calamity special.
Sometimes you've got to wonder, just which ones on the BMW board have got the horse blinders on...

They can offer it in NA by making it an only order model. Like if you want one you have to order it but it will not be mass produced and sit on dealer lots. Meanwhile heres my old C7 RS6
