The new one can't get here soon enough. The old one, while beautiful, is simply missing the driving dynamics it deserves.
Well that would be 3 years, which while I agree goes fast, is more than a little while (to me).

The new Hyundai Genesis looks better personally, probably will have the same amount or more features than this, comes in V6 and V8, has a longer warranty, costs way less and possibly drives as good if not better. Flame on!

Maybe. Ok - probably. But at some point the V8 is likely to become exclusive to the M5 with respect to the 5 Series family. It might not happen for the G3x but I would say its pretty likely for the following generation. The I6 will be at 400hp by then and may even be paired with some sort of hybrid assist as standard equipment.
I haven't seen anything confirming it, but it can't be ruled out yet either. |

LOL...that thing looks ugly, sounds terrible, looks slow. Three strikes your out.
It is one thing to put it in a tiny 1-series. Another thing in a giant 5-series people mover. Like others have say, the 528i is already anemic. |

No flame here, I agree with you 100% Don't forget the Genesis will be likely be infinitely more reliable too.

+1 The very reason i have decided to go for the F10 2014 528i M Sport LCI as opposed to the F30 328i M Sport. BMW is going in the wrong direction with their headlight designs..but each to their own..not my cuppa tea.

I just ordered a 2014 M5 and it will be the only M5 on the road until at least 2017/2018. |

I'm doing ED on an F10 550i on March 28. I'm not even mad. This will make it perfect timing to get a G30 550i (or maybe M5 ) in 3 years when I'm done with this one. I'm really happy BMW upped the power to 445HP on the 550i too

Agreed. I'm getting an F10 550 before the V8 goes away (if it goes). Next up will either be a 750 or M5, but I've got 4 years or so to make that decision. Like the above poster said if the non M Gs come out in 2016, the M5 won't make an appearance until at least the fall of 2017 or later.
ETA: Even if the V8 did stick around, there's no way I'm getting the 2017 version of this car. Way too many issues with the initial builds this time around, I'd wait until 2018 regardless. I was lucky and got a post September combox build back in 2010-11. |

Other companies like Hyundai, for example, are fairly newcomers in the sport-luxury segment and they seem to have put in a good deal of work coming up with good stuff at a low price and a better warranty. They don't want to screw up early in the game and ruin their reputation. They obviously want to gain as much market share as possible so I can see how their new cars can be almost as good as the Germans or better in terms of more value/features for the money. Definitely worth a look for me. RWD/AWD, V6/V8, lots of features, etc. |
