Had a couple of questions on the interior of my Artic Grey 550 so here a few pictures:
I didn't choose the car spec, it was dealer configured and I just happened a long at the right time. Nice not to wait The interior and obvious visible bits Nappa Ivory white with contrast piping Ambient interior lighting - always set to purple as per my daughter's instructions! Sunroof Piano black finish interior trim Alcantara anthracite headliner Instrument panel in sensatec Ceramic control surround Sun protection glazing Rear blinds B&W Sound system Ambient air package Heated and ventilated seats This is the second time I have had a piano black interior - It looks great but its a pain with dust and fingerprints, I have to keep a microfibre cloth in the armrest just calm my OCD at traffic lights. Given a choice I think I would be tempted to switch to something else but to be honest nothing leaps out at me, maybe the aluminium rhombic option... I like light interiors, so very happy with the Ivory nappa, however it is very similar to my previous E60 550i and I would consider a change - the tartufo looks very nice, I saw it on a 7 series and was quite taken. Worth noting though, that while the nappa leather is lovely to touch, it is soft and I wouldn't dare put anything with hard edges on the seats, such as heavy boxes. I would ditch the blinds, with sun protection glass they aren't really necessary. Even though the factory protection is not very opaque. Alcantara headliner. Love it, had it for 10 years on the old car so to lose it would feel like a down grade in that department. Gives a rich, warm feeling to the interior. I like the ceramic controls. A very premium feel Wouldn't bother with ambient air. Can't really tell if its working and its ridiculously expensive to get replacements. Mine have almost run out and its the first message on the idrive when I start the car, just to piss me off. B&W - I like the sound though very variable on the source and type of music. Classical and OSTs sound really good. Glad I have it, would miss it. And looks very nice to boot. |

Powder Coated Wheels
Here is my 2018 M550I Xdrive with black glossy powder coated wheels, ceramic tint and IR windshield film. First post... Can anyone tell me how to "right" the pics? They were uploaded in correct fashion but somehow have turned sideways now.

Love the 668M rims in gloss black. Probably helps hide the enormous amount of brake dust our M performance brakes generate haha.

My dealership offered it as an option. Found out later that they outsource it to a local shop by my house. Ended up taking my wife's vehicle by there as well. $850 and you just drop your car off in the morning and pick it up in the evening. Unfortunately they do not help with brake dust. Maybe if you got matte finish but then they would always look dirty imo.

Great combo! What brand front license plate tow mount did you go with? Does it interfere with any sensors?

Beautiful color interior....I'm really regretting playing it safe and going with the boring ass black interior (especially on a black exterior car).

I thought full leather covered the lower half of the door. Guess that's only on 7 series 😭
