The scary part of this is what will be the reaction of the global elites and government grifters when the numbers don't add up. Governing against the will of the majority of the folks often doesn't turn out well. |

My other EV friend experience. Now he said no more EV cars in his life.
I have owned 2 Teslas starting in 2016 and then again in 2020. I did like the acceleration and simplicity of fewer moving parts. Where I live a trip to the coast to appreciate the Pacific Ocean was one of many types of trips where the range anxiety would set in. No casual driving around because there were literally no fast charging stations there. I could have used the adapter and plugged it into the wall.....but then no driving because it would take all day to get any reasonable "fill up". Frustrating limitations. Locally, occasionally I would go to a shopping center that had 12 charging stalls that were always full....with waiting cars jockeying to find which parking lot lane was the "queue". Our local Amazon Fresh Store boasts of being climate-friendly (Jeff Bezos's influence) by having Three charging station. Always taken. We would go out to eat at a local fancy hotel restaurant that had 8 charging stations (pay with a credit card) that were always full of ICE cars that the valet parked. If anyone with numbers skills runs scalability exercises...it is scary. This last summer California (which will ban ICE cars in a few years) was asking car owners to NOT charge their cars at times because of power grid problems. Even if only 15% or so of current car owners switch to electric we will definitely have massive brownouts. OK..I really liked my Teslas but they are gone now. They were "toys" that had nonsense like "self-driving" that did not work and was dangerous. |

Hyundai is switching lanes from EVs in a quest for another 'clean' fuel
The South Korean automaker announced at a keynote during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Jan. 8 that it is setting forth on a strategy centered around hydrogen fuel that involves the production of hydrogen fuel, storage, transportation and its use throughout its affiliated businesses, including steel making. Hyundai said that will play a crucial role in its "sustainability roadmap," specifically its RE100 target to use only renewable energy in its overseas factories by 2045, and in every part of the company by 2050. First, Hyundai is developing methods to transform problem pollutants into hydrogen by using one of two methods in what it calls "reverse circulation technology." Here, the automaker harvests hydrogen molecules from either organic waste — food, sludge or livestock manure, or by breaking down waste plastics. Additionally, the automaker is developing what it calls megawatt-scale polymer electrolyte membrane, or PEM electrolyzers for hydrogen production. Electrolyzers are key to hydrogen production, as they enable water molecules to be separated down to hydrogen and oxygen in the making of hydrogen fuel. Last, Hyundai is centering the use of hydrogen throughout critical parts of its logistical chain where it can be used. The company has already begun deploying its hydrogen-powered XCIENT fuel cell trucks at the Port of Oakland and plans to use them at its new EV factory near Savannah, Ga. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/tech...9d5e72987&ei=6 So if there is a honest better solution to saving the planet will the EV folks care? Hydrogen will define if this is a cult or a true concern for the planet. |

Admin drops nearly $1 billion on green bus program inspector general warned was unfeasible
The administration is dispersing nearly another billion dollars in federal grants for school districts nationwide to decarbonize their bus fleets, despite recent inspector general findings casting doubt on the program. The funding means the agency has now awarded nearly $2 billion for thousands of new buses across hundreds of school districts under its Clean School Bus Program, which was created in late 2021. However, the EPA Office of Inspector General in late December published the findings of an audit which determined that the Clean School Bus Program was largely dependent on utility companies' ability to increase power supplies. Further, the program may also face significant delays, according to the inspector general, without construction of additional charging stations. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/bi...6205b8721&ei=6 |

This morning (04:30-AM) I drove to the company , the radio newsflash said +6K calls from EV owners ... It was cold like -8C° , but it felt like -15 with a ice cold wind ! The problem for the EV owners was : The plug/adapter was frozen to the car and they couldn't remove the thing from the car ... A guy said: It's like being handcuffed !

Any one buying a EV in a nordic or any area where the winters are sub zero are two fries short of a happy meal.
How extreme cold can crack lithium-ion battery materials, degrading performance Storing the rechargeable batteries at sub-freezing temperatures can crack the battery cathode and separate it from other parts of the battery, a new study shows. Initial studies found that storing cathodes at temperatures below zero degrees Celsius led batteries to lose up to 5% more of their capacity after 100 charges than batteries stored at warmer temperatures. https://www6.slac.stanford.edu/news/...ng-performance Sometimes when they thaw they go thermal. Que the fire video. |
