Deal killers for $80k:
*No nappa dash option (I'd gladly pay for it!) *Half-digital cluster is so naaaaasty *4-Zone climate (Again, I'd pay for it)

I guess I am in the minority....I prefer analog clusters to digital and I like the design of this cluster versus the fully digital cluster in my x6.

The important question, to me, is when does the G90 M5 go into production? That is what I am waiting for.....

4 zone climate is probably standard. everyone can stop freaking out. not sure why nappa dash isn't an option when you can get it on the f10.

Give us a 5-series size car which is all-electric. It's hard to justify spending this kind of money these days on an internal combustion engine car when you can get a Tesla Model S 60D or 75D for similar money. Carpool lane driving, no emissions, quiet, luxurious enough and fun to drive, no visits to the gas station, easier to repair, etc.
The M550i is an evolutionary tweak on obsolete technology. The established car manufacturers should have been a lot more aggressive about electric. It's amazing that Tesla had such a huge head start on them. |

But the cluster is digital right? The only thing not digital is the bordering around where the revs and speedo are displayed.

4 zone is standard in Germany, so I assume it's standard everywhere.

Much nicer display and touch buttons in the front with the 4 zone.

4-zone hvac is not available in the US, either standard or as an option. Can't figure out why.
Like the later years of the F10, the leather dash will be available with the addition of the Individual merino leather interiors. As other have said, hopefully that'll be later in the year. I'm not sure why everyone is so upset about the lack of BMW's fully digital dash. Its design is waaaay behind Audi, Merc, Jag and Porsche which allow real user customization. BMW's digital dash pretty much just changes colors and graphics depending on the drive mode. For a car company with the best overall tech (by far), BMW's digital dash is just a gimmick imo.

Agreed. Carbon and Bluestone look good though. I'd love to see this in Frozen Dk Grey or whatever that M760 launch color was.

Go ahead and get a Model S as your next car if that floats your boat; overall it is a great car with very impressive technology. Tesla is constantly updating its software which makes all other manufacturers look like dinosaurs in comparison. But there's a reason why the majority of Model S owners are nerdy techies instead of true automotive enthusiasts: it's just not a driver's car. I live in an area where there are a ton of them roaming around, and only once have I ever seen one driven in a spirited manner. The people who own them don't care about driving. Beyond the electric powertrain, Tesla's fundamental goal as a company is to eliminate the need for human control of a vehicle entirely. That doesn't sit well with real car enthusiasts such as myself, who much prefer having their hands on the wheel, rowing through the gears, and feeling the road. BMW's claim to fame is "sheer driving pleasure." That means the brand fundamentally (unlike Tesla) focuses on things like chassis response, handling, and having world-class engines (especially their straight 6s). Turning the 5-series into an electric car would be blasphemous to the brand's heritage. Last edited by Germanauto; 03-15-2017 at 06:12 PM.. |

I special ordered it on the F10 and along with the extra controls for the rear seat, you also get additional rear vents on the B-Pillar which is a nice touch. |
