That is the only real issue with the 5. It handles well in the twisties and is great on the Autobahns, but parking in many places can be quite challenging. That said, the newer 3s are nearly as big, so might as well go 5er. |

I finally got to see the G60 in person and they had one that was as probably as tricked out as your going to see until the M5 and M560e comes out.
I just can’t get past the stance. It looks like it going downhill.

I don't like the heavily creased, origami-like corners of the G60, especially in the back.
Prefer a backside with some roundness and curves personally. |

While I agree the average American is getting bigger (I have, but I’m above average in life history😉. What about the Dutch? Was just there a couple months ago and everyone was waaaay taller than the average American. OK, they were tall and thin or tall and normal where Americans are just, well, mostly obese. But how do European cars work for Netherlanders but not for Americans?

I am 6 feet tall and have the seat about 3/4 of the way up and somewhat far forward so that I can get good vis. over the G31s chunky hood section and have a proper bend in my elbow for steering. If I lower the seat all the way or push back too far I can barely see out. Tall people should have no major problems in modern BMWs. |

The more I see g60s and reviews, the more convinced I am that I made the right call ( at least for me) by buying a g30 m550
Will be interested in the review that joe Achilles is apparently posting soon. Respect his reviews on BMWs |

My old Merc had a much lower hood. The design is rather odd considering the driving position and visibility is otherwise excellent. |

I like to see the corners of the car and don’t like the feeling that I’m sitting on the floor so I have my comfort seats set to their highest level. I’m 5’10”
The base is fairly flat but the front squab is higher to support my legs I get a good view out and can see the instrument cluster without any issues along with the HUD |

We made the right call. I have zero doubts. I freaking love this car.

I agree, a second M550i was exactly the right choice over the new 5s, and it's a next level platform over the new 3s. I like my 2022 a lot, and once it's 5 years old that will likely end my BMW ownership since 97 as I feel they are going into a direction I don't fit within.

I also agree.
When I saw a 2022 G30 M550iX at my local dealer in Oct. 2021, I was sold at first glance, unfortunately the car was too. I ordered the exact same car and still feel it is special every time I see and drive it. I have looked at G60’s on my local dealer's lot several times. The same ones that have not sold in almost two months, mostly i5 M60's $92k+. The design just looks off to me and does not spark the same enthusiasm. The electric car concept does not work for me. A similarly equipped G60 530i or 540i would be almost near the cost of my M550. Like almost everything in today’s economy, pay more to get less. Not sure if I will pay upwards of a $100k+ for an M560e if it comes here. I have owned many BMWs and the current design direction across the entire lineup and push to go electric has made me wonder what I will do when I need to replace my current car.

I suspect I’ll get an M5 & revisit my late twenties when I no longer need the G31 for the dogs, which hopefully won’t be for at least another five years…Franks seven years & 3 months now, seems like only yesterday he was a little bundle of fluff. Can’t think of anything else to replace the G31 with, an Z4 M Coupe would be nice…in theory but I suspect the novelty would soon were off getting in & out of it with my dickie hip, ffs.
What I will not be buying is a G60.

Get a Porsche. I know that's what I'm going to do if this design language continues.

Porsche is a possibility. I wanted a 992 911 in late 2021 but the availability was scarce and not an option. I ended up with the M550 after miraculously getting an allocation for production in a realistic timeframe at less than MSRP.

Who ever designed that stupid shift lever should be shot... SLOWLY!! I've spent about 6 days (two, three day stints) in two loaners (a 2023 2-series and 3-series) with that stupid setup. There is nothing intuitive about it and one has to think about what to do to change gears. I do get that it is probably for the electric cars. The new iDrive is really dumb; EVERYTHING is imbedded in a menu. They have buttons for FF/next and RW/previous, but you have to dig into a menu to activate the heated seats. The screen is incredibly wide, too wide for the NAV. The map is way too wide in relation to the height. We drive bottom to top, not left to right.
If/when I have to replace my G30, it won't be with a BWW if they continue down this path. |

I think my take away from visiting the dealer this week was that I just can’t identify with these “I “ cars. They don’t look or feel like BMW’s. This was a large dealer I was at with a large showroom. There was a mix of this “I” generation and then the non I’s with the fugly grills etc. It felt like I was at a dealer selling two different brands. For the first time in my BMW fandom, I just can’t keep track of what’s what.
I just wish they didn’t go all in on the EV thing. They should have had a few models available as an EV or one or two completely different cars of the electric variety. A sports sedan and an SUV, like Porsche.

Bmw seem to have a model for just about every niche now ( they probably created one or two themselves)
I remember when bmw was essentially just a 3,5 or 7. Those are the key models that I identify with but now it’s takes a while to scroll down on their webpage for all the models they make! |

I've never been a brand loyalist [excluding my DSM/Mitsubishi phase from 2001-2005 ] and got into BMWs about 6 years ago by happenstance with a takeover lease of my boss's '16 535i. It's been a good run, but I think my current M550i will be my last Bimmer for a bit thanks in huge part to this bizarre design direction that they've doubled down on. When I turn in the keys to this beast next year, probably going to call it a day and go down the ho-hum route with a used Lexus GS or Acura TLX.
