What are the file requirements for getting embedded jpg files to appear for MP4 files?

I have gotten all 1000+ of my MP3 files to properly show jpg album covers but for MP4 files I can only get one or two movie posters to appear out of dozens of files. I use MP3TAG for both MP3 AND MP4. My MP4 movie posters are all the same file size, resolution, subsampling etc. l can't figure out why a couple work and most don't. All the other metadata I add to MP4 files appears correctly (Title, Artist, Album). It is only the cover that doesn't appear.


I also tried converting to a png image file and that didn't work, either.
