Yeah, I just got into it with that M3. How fucking old am I? Wake up call for sure. This news story is literally my local news.

Tried to get my car on the old rhino ramps from my F10 535 but the G30 is much lower and won't go up. What ramps are yours guys using that clear the front bumper?

There should be a lot you can do. I just got in there and kind of explored it, honestly. I think I found the sport display without ever reading anyone post about it.

Put a 2X4 at the front of the ramp to shallow-out the approach.

Yeah, had to get one for myself too. Almost the same as the one I designed for the X5, but this time with gunmetal hardware and my initials.

Comfort is a mini beast in the M550, no dog in it at all. If I need a little bump in comfort I slap the lever left.

The roads suck here as you know. I prefer comfort for the softer dampers and the overall comfortable ride when tooling around town or bumper to bumper traffic. But yes, Comfort in the M550 is not what Comfort is like in the 540. The V8 just pulls like there is no tomorrow from zero and doesn’t need the higher revs to kick in the turbos to get results. Sport mode has higher shift points, so you get the benefits of the turbos on the B58 sooner.

So when I do use Sport or Sport Plus, it’s just feels like a whole other level and a treat because I’m not driving in it all the time.
I’ve started looking for low mileage 2023 M550i’s and they are much less common than low mileage M5’s. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised M5 owners don’t drive them as much. But the M550 might be just right to replace my 540 given your and NGT’s comments except I can’t see trading a 44k car I know for something with half the mileage. Sub 10k miles would be ideal.

You know, this is literally the eyeball test, but I see one M550 on the road here a month if I am lucky. I have no idea how many they produced for North America or what there allocation was by state, but it is rare to see an M550 on the road, which I like. On the other hand, SO many 540's and 530's. I see more M5's by far than M550's.

I think you’ll be able to do that. People have only had them for less than a couple years. Keep an eye out and I think one will likely surface with under 20k and probably around 10k miles. They are more likely to be daily driven than an M5 but that doesn’t mean you don’t have retirees, short commuters, and people driving them along with another car in the garage.

I don’t see many of either, here. Not in the G30/F90 chassis.

I don’t remember where you’re located but there are several 2023 M550’s with under 10k miles on the BMWUSA preowned search site. Nice mix of colors and wheel options too. Didn’t dig into further options and package specs but they’re there.

I was gonna say I’ve driven that stretch and 90+ is basically commonplace.

“During the check, troopers said they also stopped three other drivers for speeds above 100 mph and 17 additional drivers for speeds above 90 mph.”

No joke, people in ma/nh typically drive faster from my experience in 55/65 zones than people in Utah, Idaho and Colorado do in 80/85 zones.

I had nothing better to do at 7am this morning. So, went ahead and changed the oil. Kinda was a waste since the oil I drained out of the car was still clean. Oh well. Worse part of changing your oil is putting the old oil back in the oil containers. Especially when it's windy out.

Retirees…haha I resemble that allegation. That’s why mine has only 44k after 5-1/2 years. That and Covid.
