Apple car play coding question

Hi I had a question regarding coding apple car play on the entrynav. I recently saw online on facebook: https://web.facebook.com/TheGarageEgy That they have successfully implemented apple carplay into a a bmw g30 that doesnt have navigation with the 8.8 inch screen. When I called up the place they told me that they do the modification using software to unlock this, but they are asking for a lot of money. So I was wondering if it is possible to do it by myself?

How much did they ask? I know the price is around 250.
