Hey 👋🏻, so I picked up a used 2020 540i M sport about two weeks ago. The day I get home from the dealer I see there’s a crack on the drivers side mirror cap. Annoyed, but my fault for not realizing it before I Left the lot or I would’ve negotiated a bit more. Nevertheless, I ordered the mirror cap from getbmwparts and I went to just line it up and realized it’s actually not the mirror cap at all and is the arm that swings below it. My question is does anyone have a part number for that specific area? Do I have to buy the whole Mirror assembly!? Really didn’t want to spend $700 on the part. Photos attached and any info is appreciated. TIA

Probably because of the labor. As you can see from the PDF, it isn't really as simple as just removing it. You need the repair kit too (to replace the drilled-off spring) which I think costs $300

I think I would live with that if it's functioning properly. I think I would grab some gloss black 3M wrap off Amazon for $30 bucks and take a shot at covering it. There is plenty for trial and error. I would do both sides just to match. It would take the edge off seeing the crack and scratches and would also protect like PPF.
Just a thought.
