2017 G30, the dakoda leather seat has lost its cushion and now it feels like i'm sitting on a metal platform. i assume a new seat would be expensive, is there some kind of repair that can be done to restore the cushion?

i'm using a couple of extra cushions now and it bothers me to see how janky they look and having to shift them around all the time

Check with a good auto upholstery shop and see what they can do for you. They'd probably be able to replace the cushion. It might even be more comfortable than the original.

A new foam base for the seats in my G30 M Sport, part number 52107354590 at a cost of around £300 / $370.

Have you looked to see if the serpentine springs underneath the seat are intact?

Check the part number on Real OEM.

Here in the UK I've seen 2020 G30`s with low mileage breaking for spares with perfect seats.

Has yours done a high mileage?

Have they ever been exposed to moisture? That can cause them to rot. Anyways, just order a new foam base from BMW and have someone replace it.
