Where are the other engines?

Perhaps I missed it with all the posts, but is the first year only going to be 530/540 variants?

SCOTT26 talked all about the multiple engines that were going to be available. Where is the info on the known M550 variants, the e-variants, the 670bhp engine, the supposed 1,000Nm of torque hybrid?

With over 1,000Nm of torque this would be the most powerful BMW production powertrain ever.

BMW maintain that the performance of the powertrain exceeds even that of the most powerful GT they currently offer – the 444bhp 4.4-litre V8 550i."

The PR on the international site details the 530e and M550i.

At launch (February) the available models will be the 540i, 530i, and 520d as well as their xDrive counterparts. In March BMW will start rolling out the M550i, 530d, 530e, and 520d ED.

We only know that the 530e uses the same basic drivetrain as the hybrid F15 and G11 but with the ICE in a detuned state, so there may be a 540e coming like how MB has multiple hybrid versions of their S-Class and later that monster hybrid system that was tested in the F07.

The M550i is basically an uprated xDrive only of the current N63TU. Guessing the 540d and M550d will fill out the range later next year

The statement was in regards to the introduction of Power eDrive which will be introduced to offer PHEV and then Performance EV.
Power eDrive has been developed in three stages with the GT F07 tested using the top line drivetrain. However this would not feature within a 5er as it would outclass the M5. The second level up to around 500PS is expected in the M550e.
Which will be phased in along with recently introduced diesel models as well as the flagship Diesel the M550d. (Europe Only)
The 5er Touring will have its world premiere in Geneva in March.

Where do you get this from? Historically what large powerful 5 series engine has the ROW got that Europe hasn't?

Hell they have even released the 6.6l V12 7er in the UK.

You're all over the forum at the moment spreading nonsense.....
