Except that the E43 costs WAAAAAAY more than the 540. It costs as much or more as the M550. Frankly the E43 just doesn't match up well with anything in the segment. It's too expensive versus the cars that it performs similarly to, and it gets beaten like a rented mule by the cars it's priced similarly to.

The F10 was and is a great car - it's seven years old the first batch so no - G30 couldn't really have been made back then

Based on my understanding the E43 is the director competitor with the BMW M550.
Then, there is no way it could stand in the competition. M550 gonna destroy the E43 every single day. The F90 M5 will no wonder be the best all-around car in the world.

I thought the new E-Class would many steps ahead of the new 5 Series but glad to see the 5 be in a league of its own too. I do prefer the looks of the 5 over the E
