Still really excited to get this thing though

Does anyone else think the gear shifts have a bit too much pause between disengagement and reengagement? I'm not that familiar with the F10 am5's DCT. Does this sound similar? Or slower?

I'm fascinated by the driving of Glock, the ability to turn fast laps without error. If you watch the box in the upper left, you can tell by watching the seats he's hauling. Great video.

I believe this is the new 8 speed automatic they're replacing the DCT with on the new M5.

I have a deposit down on the M5. I am first in line at Endras in Toronto which is a high volume M car mover. I should have a very early production car in my hands. Hoping September is the month. Can't bloody wait. This car will be a total super car killer and heart breaker. Hoping our friends at BMS will have an early JB4 solution. Also seriously debating about Euro delivery. A bucket list item is driving on the Ring. This would be a dream.

I would never have this car in any mode other than 4WD sport.

So basically all modes other than standard mode (4WD, 4WD Sport, 2WD) cut all electronic nannies or just DSC 📴? Pretty sure most will leave it in standard mode in everyday driving

Cold. Wet. Blanket...

That said, IrishAce if you are debating euro delivery make it happen. I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't regret it.

Why bother with playing sound from the engine on speaker when you can just remove it? Also saves weight from all that insulation+sound capturing stuff

I concur!

It could be BMW's answer to the; 911 turbo, AMG GT, R8, F-Type SVR, etc.

Less than 4000lbs
AWD
600hp s63tu
2+2
Less luxury and more sport, to save weight.

If people want a luxury coupe get the 8 series coupe

I wish.... also the ZF 8DT rather than the 8sp auto. Also wish they made the options more a la carte like Europe. You could option out small things like the seat massager functions, or the rear sunshade, comfort access, soft close doors ETC all individually rather than not getting an entire package. All these things save a little weight here and there.
