I THINK what he was saying is you can wait 2 years and pick up a G90 m5 for that price since the G90 is a better comparison than the F10 m5.

Yep. I'll be picking up a G90 m5 or F85 x5m or F86 x6m (if I stay with BMW).

Why would you say that? The take rate on the F10 550i was pretty high. Even the E60 550i had a lots of customers and those cars easily exceeded $60K. The M550i is a bargain in my opinion. A bone stock G90 M5 will be almost $100K, if not more. Thats going to be a $25-30K difference at the bare minimum.

I think he meant the enthusiast crowd on Bimmerpost will probably wait for the new G90 and buy that one used over a new M550.

read the whole thread, I'm saying at $73k, a used G90 M5 would be at the same price in year 2020. Not everyone wants to eat 50% depreciations in 36 months and are many people are content driving a used a car.

The order guide shows $650, not $1,000, for the Alcantara headliner. Wonder if that makes for a quieter cabin, or just a higher end aesthetic?

Best news is the new Executive Package which includes 6WB digital instrument cluster.

The 530e has been sold from the inception as a 2018 model year. Any one have an idea if the release of the configurator for other models of the 2018 G30 will also have any changes to the 530e? Apparently, there is information that a DHP will be added, the rear view camera will be rolled in as standard, and in particular, wireless HV charging was touted as an addition in 2018. The on-line configurator usually happens in Sept, but those of us on this forum generally get build information before that. I haven't found this for the 2018 G30, yet; but the 2018 X5 build sheets are now up on the X5 forum.

Hell, my 08 550i was only middlingly optioned and stickered at 72. Pricing out a nice M550i at ~85 and assuming ill be close to invoice seems like a great(ish) deal considering the massive step up in every area (except maybe handling - the cars i tested didnt have the upgraded m550 suspension).

But we still dont know how us pricing will look on the m5...
