Rhodonite Silver

Hopefully someone other than me will find these different threads interesting. I realize I’m peppering the hell out of y’all with them…

Anyone seen Rhodonite in person? Relative to silver cars, is it unique in anyway?

I ask that way because I know some love silver and some hate it. I’m really looking more for feedback on Rhodonite as a silver color than I am opinions on silver, in general.

Silver seems more interesting than white, but both seem pretty neutral to me. With a good detail and ceramic coating, I feel like silver would pop more than white.

Rhodonite was one of the colours I was looking for but couldn't find it on a G31.

Rhodonite was my favorite pre-LCI color option, but as I recall came with an additional charge of just under 2 grand and a warning about individual paint possibly causing a delay in the order. It's a lighter silver than the common glacier silver seen on many BMW models, and Rhodonite has more of a metallic flake than glacier.

I think i remember seeing a random m5 on youtube with it. I think it was previous generation m5 F-body. In the sun it looked like liquid metal it was crazy. Looks like a T-1000 from terminator.

Suspect it’s a rare colour ordered so the chances of seeing one in the metal is going to be next to zero.
Other than photos and videos might just have to take the plunge and order without seeing yourself

I would also say if you are after a new g30 to get your order in asap as production of the g60 starts in July. In the U.K. , orders for the 520d and m550 have already been discontinued before Christmas so the number of allocations will be getting scarce as time goes on

A very big positive about silver is it doesn't show swirls/scratches and hides dirt/dust/pollen really well.

agree with MauiSteve . Three years ago, I saw that one of my local BMW dealers was getting in a Rhodonite Silver 5 series and I asked a CA to call me when it came in so that I could take a look--about to order a 2020 model and was considering it. I had about a 3 hr window as it was a customer order and saw it in the pre-delivery showspot in perfect condition and lots of light. Decided against it because of the extra cost and certain knowledge that I would never recover that cost on resale

I bought one of the 2009 Nissan GTR's in "Super Silver" at extra cost. Looked very good when just washed, but if you are not washing it frequently, kind of overkill. The Rhodonite silver was very similar.

I just checked out the GTR super silver. I like it.

I really like Rhodonite Silver. To me, it almost looks like a glacier silver with just a tinge of gold added in to give it a faint warm hue, if that makes sense. I am a fan of silver but not a fan of gold, so I find the balance of the Rhodonite Silver quite attractive and a nice change from the usual silvers.

I wash my car weekly when the weather allows and at least once every 3-4 weeks even in winter. Would likely ceramic coat it as well.

Yes, that was my conclusion when I saw it in the very bright pre-delivery space at the dealership. Had a "slight" tan haze--but that made it a very distinctive "silver"
