I did the math wrong... It's about $2K every SIX MONTHS!

$630 a month, dc area. 3 cars. Lol. I just recently got two tickets in one day. Good old Ocean City, MD. Which skyrocketed my rate. That being said, I would still be in the 500’s even if I didn't get pulled.

Feel bad for you bro. But it's how things are now. I dont see how the next generation are going to afford anything unless wages go up 300%.
In Memphis our car insurance rates are all skyrocketing. No hurricanes. Just car theft and uninsured drivers like you wouldn’t believe.

I find parts of Memphis scary to drive in. That says a lot, having lived near Boston until about a year ago. I'm not sure of the highway names, but there is a merging where it feels like Indy 500 driver wanna bes with their Challengers and Mustangs go well over 100MPH.

Yeah it’s insane. All the highway mergers are dangerous. 1-240 and 385 are free for alls most of the time. I have seen them pulling people over more. TN highway patrol got sent here in large numbers and that lot a fire under MPD. But there are zero consequences so it doesn’t matter. We have a DA that doesn’t believe in consequences but even worse, judges that don’t believe in consequences. And they only get elected like every 7 years.

You don’t have to be specific if you’d rather not, but do you mind saying what part of TN you’re in? Not a lot of TN guys on here, or southeast guys in general (I don’t count FL, it’s its own region to me haha - same for TX).

Gotcha. Had to look it up but I see where you are. My sisters live in Nashville and Columbia. When I go, I like to get off I-40 in Jackson and take 412. Gives a nice couple hours to drive the car on mostly two lane with some twists and curves as you go up in elevation.

I'm in the Bay Area. For my 2021 G30 with 18k miles, I'm paying about $283 per month. This is with no accidents, no tickets, and includes a discount because I bundled with my homeowners insurance.

A little late to this conversation but I just paid my State Farm six month premium and it was $530 for six months on the 2019 540xi, so $1,060 for the year if rates stay the same. Rates have been going up fairly steadily since I have to pay for the Florida hurricanes and California wildfires. I have three cars and all other insurance with State Farm. No tickets or significant claims. Did have a small hit in a parking lot on the Corvette five years ago but that was paid for by her insurance. Also a new windshield on the Corvette due to a stone chip. Otherwise nada. --Bob

Being in FL, insurance for everything is nuts. For my 2021 BMW 540i M Sport and 2020 Lexus GSF, I pay $2520.00 every 6 months. No tickets since 1991 and no accidents ever 🤞.

That also includes a $360 discount for being a pilot. Commercial pilot’s license counts as an “affinity/professional organization”.

I’m sure it has to do with theft rates being higher in FL and probably increased collision stats. Could also be everyone in FL lawyers up after a minor fender bender looking to cash out to remodel the double wide 😜.

Sorry, Florida jokes are my favorite.
