60k will get a lovely spec 540i so long as you're happy to drive the thing yourself...

But that's expensive so I'll be interested to see what BMW offer in terms of a deal, as we're all used to getting 15-20% or more off the retail.

looks like EBII (or even San Marino Blue) but that's not an option

only blue options for M Sport are Med. Blue (which is a darker blue) and Bluestone (which I have never seen before)

or is it just Med. Blue with lots of light, HDR, too much editing done to make it look like EBII?
It does look like San Marino Blue. It is not dark enough for Mediterranean Blue. Bluestone is a much lighter shade; almost a mix of Space Grey with a blue tint.

It's Mediterran blue. It's written in the German price list next to the same image, 22nd:

It's just questionable how much you can trust the image since the color
is probably very different.

I am lead to believe there will not be much discount, but they are offering 3.9% APR and 2.9% APR to existing 5 series owners. This will help with the monthly cost.

Not great I'd expect an APR in and around that regardless, BTW they'll offer that to anyone who wants to buy not just current owners.

(If you've heard that from your dealer that's a little bit of salesmanship going on.)

But if they want full up money like they did when the M3/4 launched only to offer 20% off a year later it will be best to wait.

one year wait from my side max purely down to risks of few problems with new models new tech and all, on the cash side your 2 year wait will cost you on the trading side i.e. the F10 will devalue further specially they sold a lot of F10s if not wrong more than the E60, even at present dealers car parks are maxed with F10s add the extra traded in with the deliveries of the new g30 throughout 2017 I am not sure you be getting any extras on the overall price.
My judgment is based on buying the cars instead of leasing, and on that basis the devaluation is always guarantied when buying new may as well jump the earlies and enjoy the G30 for it full life cycle so this way I paid a fortune for car that I am to keep for 5 to 6 years, i.e. to the next model after I guess the H30.

Not quite apples with apples but initial thoughts are that these are quite expensive but do have some kit that was optional previously. like any BMW, very easy to load up the options and blow the budget!

I personally will wait at least a couple of years so that discounts are better and I expect that there will be more engines / equipment / colours etc that come out over time.

Example don't see alcantara headlining this time round.
