G30 handles very well even in ECO Pro mode as far you individualise the mode to Sport Steering

Can you alter steering feel without VDC? I think it was on the F10 when it came out originally but was subsequently only possible to change as part of the upgraded package? Obviously without VDc or adaptive drive it won't be possible to adjust suspension settings

is the steering only customisable for eco pro and sport modes or can it be configured for comfort?
I haven't seen any 5 series pdf manuals as of yet, are there any out there which would obviously answer a lot of our questions no doubt

Shamefully, I admit I have been driving in Eco-Pro individualised with Sport Steering, switching off on/off engine start.

Have you also got the 'Comfort Plus' setting, as in the G11/12 models?

In the G11/12 you press the Comfort button repeatedly, until Comfort Plus shows in the cluster.

A related question:

Is it possible to have the Sports dashboard readout in comfort. I like the idea of the digital readout but it looks like you have to switch modes (and therefore ride etc) to get it?

You can customize the view that you get, though haven't tried sport dash in comfort... I like the comfort dash better... will see what I can do...

Pressing comfort a few times still leaves me in comfort btw ...

I will check that this morning and let you know... I do recall multiple presses of each key showed a different name on the dash cluster....

What is a pity is that Adaptive setting does not show you what the car has 'adapted' to it just shows 'Adaptive' all the time (At least that's what I've seen in the 200 Miles I've done

Thanks.

Seems most of the driving modes functions are the same as the G11/12.

User Manual (G11) shows Adaptive as:

Quote:
ADAPTIVE
The concept
Comfort-oriented drive mode, whose tuning is automatically adjusted to the driving situation and driving style.
If the navigation system is active, upcoming road sections are considered as well.
I read that as 'comfort' being the base setting, but using a wider range of adjustment than the comfort maps. Drive hard and it will give a tighter chassis.

7-series is the same for the "Individual" settings, Eco-Pro and Sport modes only.

Yes, I saw that in the manual too... you can definately feel it change automatically, e.g. when exiting a ramp to go on the Motorway you put your foot down.... gear changes feel like sport, and you feel the seats tighten on your back... but the instrument cluster stays in standard/comfort view....

Are you not getting "ADAPTIVE" displayed when you select it?

I too would like to know if you can have the sports display (with prominent digital speed read out) while in comfort mode..since I passed on adding the HUD this would be useful for accurate speed reading... I am also assuming that one needs one of the driving assistant packages to get speed limit display?

Interesting result. What have you got written in the User Manual? Anything like the following statement from the G11/12 User Manual?

Quote:
COMFORT PLUS
The concept
Particularly comfortable tuning for optimum traveling comfort.

Switching on
Press (COMFORT) button repeatedly until COMFORT PLUS is displayed in the instrument cluster.
