Same colors as with the M sport package on the smaller engined G30, no surprise there.

It's strange what makes them clump different things together in different countries.

Also weird how the configurator works nicely on the phone in Usa. The brits have a lame old inefficient website.

Guess you didn't see the thread where everyone complained the new US configurator is useless on a proper desktop system ?

It would be nice to see black rims as an option. Or maybe they'll be available later in the year?

The options shuffling seems to reflect the standard rear camera for 2018. What is the difference between the $1,700 Driving Assistance Plus package and the $900 Active Driving Assistant option?

The lack of the full digital dash is appalling.

The 530e configurator is also live: https://www.bmwusa.com/byo.html#!/build/color/daw20ej1

From the BMW order guide:
Active Driving Assistant includes Blind Spot Detection, Daytime Pedestrian Protection, Frontal Collision Warning w/City Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Speed Limit Info, & Cross-traffic alert rear.
Active Driving Assistant Plus includes Active Cruise Control w/Stop & Go, Active Lane Keeping Assistant w/side collision avoidance, Traffic Jam Assistant, Evasion Aid, & Cross-traffic alert front, in addition to the contents of Active Driving Assistant.

It is terrible, and also the sensatec dash is awful as well. I'd rather just have the plastic dash then the fake cheap looking leather. The rest of the car I like.

On the Canadian site - they don't have the 550 available on the configurator yet, but both the 530i and 540i look to have 4 zone climate if you pick premium package enhanced. Although the description only says front and rear seat heating, the pic clearly shows climate controls on the rear seat heating vents. Maybe BMW is too lazy to take a separate pic of just seat heating.

I'm gonna keep my opinions to myself until the car has more options and colors in a year or so

LCI is when that will happen, they normally just change around packages from year to year. Don't expect more colors either, again not until LCI.
when is the last time a 5 series had a real "color" option though (not including M5), like a brighter blue or red?
The options on the configurer are super confusing though, not very detailed in what you actually get with the packages (especially concerning the cameras, which should all be standard). And the HUD, is that only available on the $1700 package?

sensatec dash is horrible? based on first hand viewing? is this different than the standard dash on the X6? I personally really like that dash (as a no cost standard item) it blows away the old plastic look. textured and stitched plastic but the X6 was a little padded and looks good.

Configurator is up but still buggy - get a error when I want to view summary. I'm surprised they had analog gauges at all. I hope thats just an error too cause if it has anything to do with US regulations, it once again interferes with progress.

The remote parking is cheaper than I expected. Gesture control is hilariously cheap. Would never order that gimmick
