I don't know the finish of the wood trim, but if it is a gloss finish (ie. lacquered) you could try a normal bodywork polish with a very light cutting agent, something like Autoglym super resin polish. I wouldn't try anything with a stronger cutting agent and don't try this if it is actually wood or any other surface with a matte finish.
Try it on a less conspicuous area first, but I have used this on the gloss black finish interiors before with good results. This will only be effective if they are very fine scratches though, but worth a try. |

Also might consider just replacing that piece of trim. It's very tricky to polish and might easily get as expensive as the piece of trim even with just a couple hours of work required.

I think it's a bit ridiculous it's even scratched. I have had the car 10 days and literally haven't even touched the spot. I noticed just rubbing my finger across put a fine scratch in it. I'm definitely not the first to complain about this, either.

It seems to be that a lot of car interiors have this sort of glossy finish, which looks great, but is very susceptible to scratches and scuffs in normal use.
By the sound of it though, I think a bit of polish and elbow grease should remove your marks. It has worked for me with fine scratches and that was what was recommended to me by an Autoglym distributor. Just keep that polish bottle and cloth handy though, it probably won't be long before another mark appears! Good luck. |

A bit of a tangent, but what do you all use to clean the wood and the gloss black plastic bits? I keep a soft microfiber cloth to wipe dust, but want to use something to remove fingerprints without scratching or dulling the finishes.
