What have I done!
Went to our local BMW dealer a couple of weeks ago to order my wife a 2 series Convertible, she's now happy.
The dealer gave me such a fantastic deal on a 530d M Sport Touring G31 (currently in build) that I couldn't really say no...I collect on 1st March. I needed a bigger car, so, they've taken this off me, 21 months old and it will be missed.....what have I done Keep telling myself, at 54 years old I must be sensible

I think I wrote this wrong....I'm getting rid of the M2 for a 530d Touring 😬

You could always get an M3 if you need a "bigger car" but still want that feeling of your M2. Shame they never made an M3 touring, unlike Audi and Merc, could have been the best of both worlds!

Doc, I think you will be delighted by the comfort level and spaciousness the G31 offers. Over the years I have been renting/leasing series 2, 3 and 4 cars, and now I know I could never be happy with one of those again regardless of their trim level, after having owned a 5 series for 9 moths now. ,

Why start now?

Well. Hmmmm. I have an M2 and a G30 540i. I think that's the best way to go, if you can afford it and have the room. A fun car, and a mature responsible member of society car. Honestly, if I drive the M2 for two or more days consecutively, I start to doubt my choices as well as my hearing. Loud, uncomfortable, and loud. But dang, it's fun! The M2 could not be my only car, or my DD. The G30 is nice, comfortable, quiet and powerful enough. It is a great DD. But it cannot be my only car, I need something fun, with a manual transmission and three real pedals. But there are plenty of choices out there that can do that, for a lot less money than the M2.

I am headed in the opposite direction, at 55 years old, I have earned the right to no longer be "sensible"
