What's the point of this drag race anyways? What are you trying to prove?

Think it's clear with the focus on 0-60 times (over lap), AWD, auto etc. BMW now has with the 5 series, they are aiming it at the quick luxo-barge market (read Audi RS6/E63 crowd). Maybe that's their customer now.
If so, very sad. That said, no-one has driven/lapped/tested the M5 yet so benefit of the doubt eh? |

IDK, I’m impressed how fast it is in a straight line compared to the current M5. It’s a good reference. And this isn’t meant to start a pissing war. Wouldn’t this make the new 550 the fastest production BMW 0-60, including all the M models? It seems to hit that buyer perfectly, like me (even though I don’t want one). I have a track car, would never track a M5, I want something fast, but comfortable, I don’t need an M5 for dropping the kids off at school but can smoke every BMW at a stop light...until the new M’s come out. Trap speeds are irrelevant with a gap like that, the F10 got destroyed. I?ve driven plenty of both and the G30 is a better car in many areas. The F90 will be a beast. |

Ha, the M5 is the Miata in this comparo
Honestly though the F10 M5 is useless at anything below 70 mph with WOT, just spin spin spin. Having driven both I would still take the F10 M5 over the M550. Cant wait to try the new M5 though!

I'm not surprised at all , I have too read that G30 550i is the fastest car to date if not the fastest 5 Series . Anyway , what's the point of this video ? To offend F10 M5 Owners or to show that G30 is so improved that it can even leave behind the once the fastest M 5 Series
I will not bother to watch it ,I can't stand crap musics playing background thanks for heads up

The F10 M5 is a great car....it just shows the new 5 is really great, too.
These are everyday cars, not track cars. I never cared if a car was faster from a roll or from 70-130. You almost never drive in situations where that is needed....even when flexing against another car.
