Well, tonight I went through the hassle of installing the wifi antenna only to find out that my car already had the wifi antenna. A VIN decode showed that my car had none of the options that indicate the presence of it.

I'm confused about exactly which option I have that would have saved me from wasting my time.

Sunset wash. Pulled in the garage to dry it with some light. First real wash since my big road trip. Picked up some new chips on the front end but to be expected.

Took some pictures with and without the flash on. Pretty crazy how differently this color presents itself in different light. Really difficult to capture the reality of it.

Pretty much. The first one in the garage and the last two of the back end are very representative of how it can look. Sometimes very light, sometimes almost like a lighter Dravit. Then sometimes very bronze like. The hardest thing to capture is the dark but shiny bronze you can get when the sun hits it as it’s going down in the evening. I really want to get some 668 wheels for it eventually, I think they would look awesome on it. And a Dinan cat back system with the black tips like Joe-BMW33 got.

This is a random Walgreens parking lot picture. But you can get an idea of the contrast from the back end to the front end. All in how the sun is hitting the paint.

Having just spent an hour or so trying to find ceramic front pads it appears none are available & only options seem to be EBC Red or YellowStuffs.
So as I’ll be changing the brake’s myself I’ve decided to refit the almost new existing front Brembo pads & see how they feel, if I decide I need more stop I’ll get a set of EBC RedStuffs, did also look at the Yellows but I think the reds would be more suited

I hope that EBC have sorted their pads out.. last time I used red stuff on my STi Impreza which in fairness was a good few years ago, they chewed the discs up. Binned them and went for DS 2500's & DBA discs, that would stand it on it's nose! Worked better when warmed up a bit, but with the STi drives it kept them warm most of the time... maybe worth a look at their graph to see how they compare?

Disc sound good, will look nice as well

They actually are placed in two different places on the fender depending on the market. It’s strange they deviate.

I’ve thought about adding them. But I feel like it would look like the guys that add grill stipes, since most probably don’t know the Euro market has them from the factory.

The Canadian market has them, close enough, same continent. If there was any risk of being confused with the grill stripe crowd, you know I would have nothing to do with it.

I put them on. The way I look at it is if it’s on the M550 in other markets, it’s kosher. I like the look. Grill stripes have never been BMW inspired in any way.

This is where it’s placed on most cars and definitely Canadian M550’s. The authentic alternative is lower, the crooked part on his could be the pic.

You guys get all the cool stuff over there. US DOT gets in the way for us. You get anti dazzle lights and thinner bumpers (E30 generation BMWs), tourings, turbo diesels, 540e’s.

We just get big ass V8’s.

They are correct and they are straight. Your location is the European location…high on the fender. Mine is the Canadian location…right above the fender vent….which I prefer. I had mine at the euro location before and did not like it as much.
Furthermore, they are straight as the emblem was set by a level to the car lines…an$ double checked.
