If the next M5 is to be AWD the 0-100 time should be aiming for well under 7 seconds as well as best driving dynamics. As much as I'd like different components I'd hope the ones that are changed first reduce weight, improve handling and acceleration. A 5 series has never been a bad cabin to sit in! |

Look toward the rear quarter
Looks like there is a bit of rigid cammo near the rear wheel... Could that be some hidden "flaring" on the sheet metal. Cant tell if I am seeing things or not, but looks like they might be hiding something.

PS
I agree with the posts about weight loss. Hopefully the car went on a big diet. I saw a prototype of the base 5 series in Woodcliff Lake near HQ last week; it looks even bigger and wider than my F10. We'll see.
I will be one of the first to get this new M5, but I have no idea WTF to get between my lease end in March and the release of this car about 2 years from now. Bored with the rest of BMW"s lineup. X6M might have been a contender if it wasn't so damn ugly. Performance is certainly there, but geez..... |

I think that goes without saying but it's about time BMW provides a more complete package. There was no excuse to launch the F10 M5 with little to no change in the interior from the base F10 and I think this is what makes the E63 and RS6 more attractive to the consumer which does a better job differentiating between models.

Skinnier seats like those in the Ferrari 488 or the new Panamera will greatly improve the rear seat legroom in the M5. They will be a welcome addition along with that CF roof. F10 has been extremely reliable for me, hope that continues with the next gen model.

Is there any update on what is going on with the new M5? This thread has been dead for almost 5 months

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/ne...ur-wheel-drive Guess the new M5 will have too much torque to continue using Getrag DCT, will use ZF's automatic instead..... |

From what I know M5 shares the same idea with the X5M and X6M as the Auto-Transmission with DKG features.

I guess bicolored wheels are in fashion at the moment.
