2018 G30 M550i Brakes

Hey all,

So a couple questions, has anyone had to replace their brake pads on the m550 so far? I was down to 3mm on the front about 3 months ago and the brake pads were globally out of stock. BMW told me that there was in issue with brake dust in the original one so they made changes to the new ones and after pre paying for them 3 months ago they just came in today, directly from Germany.

Does anyone know if these are also made by brembo? i know the 2,3, and 4 series m sport brakes are made by brembo. The box does say made it Italy.

My breaks are being installed as i write this, i will keep an eye on the break dust, the older ones did have a lot of dust for sure.

(Parts cost $1550 CAD. That includes pads, rotors and sensors)

I have the 540i with the M-sport brakes (blue caliper) that are the same as the M550 brakes from what I understand.

Yes, Brembo makes the pads and front rotors as the OEM. I believe the rear rotors are from a different supplier from the factory.

However, if you go to Brembo's website, they'll sell you parts directly for about half the cost from the dealer. Same damn part. They also make a rear rotor for the car. Think I spent $170 per front rotor, $30 per sensor (1 front, 1 rear) and $120 on Powerstop pads. Took about 2 hours to install. Didn't have to do rear rotors, they were on good shape.

Do you happen to have the corresponding Brembo Part Numbers? I'm trying to locate pads and rotors for the front and rear, but I'm getting a lot of conflicting info.

Check out this website:

https://www.brembostoreusa.com/

Sometimes even Brembo has stuff mislabeled on that website though but if you look at the technical drawings they provide, you can confirm what part number is associated with each part.

The front rotors are directional due to the vanes in them, so make sure you order 1 driver side and 1 passenger side. I believe the rears are the same but I didn't replace the rears.

Brembo's website is a little screwy. It labels the front rotors as rear but if you look at the details, you'll see they're the fronts. Here are pics a snapped off the technical drawings so you can see which one is which.

So 09.D895.13 and 09.D896.13 are the part numbers for the front rotors directly from Brembo. You can also Google or check Amazon and find them from other parts stores using those part numbers.

If the rears are 370mm, Brembo PN is: 09D90113 for rotors

Rear EBC redstuff Pads: DP32089C

On the M550iX, I believe the front calipers are Brembo as are all the rotors, and the rear calipers are ATE. Unsure on who is the oem supplier on pads.
Based on the photos of the oem BMW pads and ATE branded ones, ATE appears to be the original equipment supplier of the pads. FCP lists the ATE as OEM
