BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi,

The online configurator-tool became available for some EU markets

http://www.bmw.lu/vc/ncc/xhtml/start...3#MODEL_ENGINE

Here is for example an 540i with the M-Sport Launch Edition pack

Cheers,

Wow cars are expensive in Luxembourg...

Huge amount of options on offer though for the new 5 series.

What we see here in terms of pricing in the Luxembourg G30 configurator - indeed it looks it is going to be quite expensive here at launch. You can compare that to the German market launch prices available here (in German)

Waiting for the Swiss prices to become known in order to console myself

You can get your local dealer to give you a price. They have to change the order date to late November for the cars to come up in the system

Strange that it is luxemburg and belgium that has the configurator available first. Not even Germany is online...

perhaps each country is still decidng on prices and configurations?
or down to how good the I.T. departments are each country on getting the websites sorted.
must be a lot to do behind the scenes.

More to do with regional marketing departments and how they decide to release information during the launch.

In many places they only release the pricing and specs at the local media launch where the media get to drive local spec cars.

This is ridiculous. And by that I don't mean your comment but BMW's behavior.
That kind of behavior was ok before the internet. But in this day and age, a global company must be prepared to launch a product in all markets simultaneously. With pricing and in this case configurators available from start in all markets where it is going to be sold.
There is no excuse for not doing it like that.

I'm guessing the UK configurator will be live very soon as the current F10 is no longer displayed. (Just the F11 and F07 remaining now)
