what color blue is on page 7?
looks like EBII (or even San Marino Blue) but that's not an option only blue options for M Sport are Med. Blue (which is a darker blue) and Bluestone (which I have never seen before) or is it just Med. Blue with lots of light, HDR, too much editing done to make it look like EBII? |

I notice the 17 and 18inch wheels no longer have run flat tyres! Mobility kit provided.
Quote The tyres on the 17’’ SE wheel and 18’’ M Sport wheel are now no longer run-flat tyres, this is to provide the lowestpossible CO2 emissions Blimey that's a turn around. |

if this is like the F10 , a year or 2 down the road, there will be more choice of engines and equipment.
That's one reason I will leave it for now and also I suspect discounts will be small unlike the 30% or so that people have been getting of late on the F10 in the UK recently. Although there are a few things I don't like which have been mentioned in other threads, overall I like this and I suspect this will repeat the F10 success sales wise. |

My dealer also hinted that there will be a M550d X drive coming to the UK. But not the M550i

Just pouring through the specs and options.
Will at some point compare my 2012 F10 530d msport to the equivalent G30. Not quite apples with apples but initial thoughts are that these are quite expensive but do have some kit that was optional previously. like any BMW, very easy to load up the options and blow the budget! I personally will wait at least a couple of years so that discounts are better and I expect that there will be more engines / equipment / colours etc that come out over time. Example don't see alcantara headlining this time round. |

Having lived with and very much appreciated a 340i for 8 months now I'm very interested in the 540i M Sport come replacement time in March 2018. I will have to part with 60k though when all the options I require are figured in so I expect at least a 40k shortfall.

I've been following the progress of the new 5 series very closely as a replacement for my F31 335d. Given that my ultimate model (an AWD M5 Touring) will not exist and the M5 development cars show the option of a deployable towbar (I still want the ability to be able to tow my Caterham to trackdays), I've concluded the following:
1: M5 - But only if AWD and Towbar option are available the UK. ..If not.. 2: M550d xDrive Touring (since M550i isn't coming to the UK). I've just spec'd up a 540i Xdrive M Sport for the fun of it and it's come to £75k! (50k + 25k of options) - That's going to make a M550d xDrive with the same spec somewhere around £90-95k. (65/70k at a guess + 25k of options), so interesting to see what the new M5's base spec and price will be. I really wish BMW would offer separate higher spec versions of the existing M Sport and M Perf model lines, call them M Sport/M Perf "Pro" or "Premium" or whatever, that included all of the main option packages. That way, the increased base price of the car should give it's future residual value a better chance. As it stands there is going to have to be some serious discounting/offers to offset the residual value loss of these options - which only exacerbates the downward vicious circle of BMW residual values. Just my thoughts.
