Nice, probably will never use it but it's cool to see in action. Like the other options in the assistance plus package through.

I thought wow

The Parking assistant is another step toward taking away driving skills from the driver - what kind of driver is BMW identifying with:

The driving assistant implies BMW wants stupid driver that cannot maneuver a car...
Or has cataract surgery and cannot visualize or initiate a parking maneuver

BMW should think of its drivers
I drove the 1500 then the 2500 then the 520 and when I was 13 and on my wall there was a picture saying freund am Fahren

And a speeding 7 series -- the pleasure drivers extracts out of driving is by maneuvering a powerful car like the 5 and 6, and M and then taming them

When that is gone so does the pleasure of driving amigos

Many BMW drivers specially

Thats awesome. what a cool feature.

but, if the automatic parking feature curbs your wheel, does bmw pay for it?

I tried that in a BMW i3. You have to do so many preparation steps before getting it to work, that you realize you would have parked yourself twice in the same time frame.

cool feature, but id like to see how it deal with the tight-parking-streets of NYC. It probably wont unless the spot is a certain size.

in addition, does it only monitor the side its parking on? or does it monitor the opposite side for impending dangers? for example a bicyclist or pedestrian?

the question about the rim curbing is a good one. although of course BMW wont take responsibility

Pretty cool but really I want to freak people out with the auto pilot. I would love to see people's faces when the driver would completely turn around and look at the rear passengers XD

Cool feature, but something tells me we can expect the "I'm gonna lemon my car and demand a new one " posts when someone's car doesn't park correctly or ; an incoming car from the rear clips the reversing front left of the car .

Pretty Cool

But it's a similar product/solution that Ford launched in 2011 with the Focus!
I think BMW is a bit late for this!
Well, I have no issues parking mine, but I know that it will be a useful feature for other drivers!

This feature is absolutely amazing and tense in person. Parks better than me.

Another nut case that thinks a technology, that many poor drivers need direly, somehow says something about the company.

Here's a news flash, It's says more about the consumers buying these cars. If you don't need the feature, don't use it

I think if someone can't parallel patk a car, they shouldn't be driving altogether.

If folks can't handle the car and know where the four corners are at 2mph, how can they be trusted at 60mph.

Forward and reverse. Two gears.

The huge advantage in the latest version of the assistant (just like on the i3) is that the parking is done while the drive holds the pdc button and must not need to do anything else.

Well I can't tell you how many clueless drivers I see driving luxury cars of all sorts.

No they shouldn't be driving, but they still do
