bmw.de F90 M5 Configurator released!

The F90 M5 configurator is now up on the BMW Germany website.

The 19" wheel option looks pretty odd to be honest.

I don't plan on getting one but I played around with the konfigurator just for fun.

I chose to design mine in a way that delivers a striking appearance.

So I chose to go with Snapper Rocks Blue, which I have seen in real life and it's very close to Atlantis Blue, both of which are very beautiful colors. For the interior I chose to go with Caramel and the Zwetschge brown trim. Looks awesome! I understand that Hockenheim Silver is going to be an Individual Color as well, can't wait to see that one, although if money were no object, I'd choose to design the F90 with Pure Metal Silver above all other colors. I am also looking forward to seeing Rhodonite Silver in real life. As for the rest of the colors, it seems the F90 M5 is lacking in some real choice. No Orange or Red options, that is lame.

I also chose to keep the 19" wheels (705M) as they look better to me than the 20" wheels. This is the first time I have ever preferred the 19" wheels to the 20" wheels on a stock M car. Besides, I would end up putting aftermarket wheels on the car anyways.

I chose damn near every option too. I do wonder if the USA will get the option for the M Sports Exhaust or will that come standard on USA spec M5's.

I also wonder if the USA will also get the ///M Track Pack Option. Or will these be individual options for USA customers.

For example, I thought the Carbon Engine Cover was standard on all M5's and not an option, was a little surprised by this.

I was also delighted to see an option for Active Speed Control with Stop & Go, this is something I've been dying for the M5 to have, glad it's finally getting it!

I have no idea what the Ambient Air Package is, must be a European thing. Lol!

I also noticed that if you select the Upgraded Front Seats then you lose Lumbar support. I am pretty sure that the USA spec F90 will come with the Upgraded Seats as standard, but now I wonder if they will have lumbar support. At least they will have adjustable side bolsters!

I would take 19" any day for the sake of comfort.

Maybe... but if there is money to be made.. you can damn near guarantee they will make it. Maybe it'll release later on.

I'm not sure why everyone is up in arms about the lack of M Performance exhaust. The first thing I do is rip off the exhaust and go aftermarket. Too many better options out there.

Dave you are going to get one you can not deny your feelings....you can not resist the dark side forever.....

Also I believe the Ambient Air Package is the air purifier that sprays scents that you choose in to the cabin. I believe it is standard on the 7 series S-class A8 etc.

I agree, Dave when you actually test drive the new M5 and see how fast it is and how well it handles you will be doing another European Delivery.

Lol! Nah, I've done Euro Delivery once already in an ///M car, that was good enough for me. I really can't justify taking a $70k hit in depreciation in a 3 year period again. However, I am planning on doing another European Delivery again one day, but this time I want to get a 6MT 2020 M340i. Or perhaps a 2022 M440i Gran Coupe if I don't mind the ZF8 Auto too much. I'm never getting rid of my F10 M5 though, so I want a new BMW daily driver that is light, fun, luxurious, analog, and comfortable. I really think the next G20 3-Series is going to be that good, that I will get one as a new daily driver. Not only that but there may be a good chance in the future that with my current job I can score a position in Germany, and you better believe that I'll be taking my 1,000hp F10 M5 with me. No need for an F90 M5 pretty much. I will be jealous of you people who get an F90 M5 and have adjustable side bolsters though.

Besides the next high performance car that I will get will have a Naturally Aspirated engine in it, preferrably a V10.

R8 V10 gated manual sounds really appealing to me. Shame they don't put that anymore in a new one.

Audi has actually already hinted that they will be doing away with the V10 engine after this generation of their R8. They also said, that their V8's will continue to be offered for quite some time in the future still. But as far as V10's go, that only leaves Lamborghini still making them and they just hinted that they can't imagine building a new Lamborghini in the future without a V12 or a V10, so the V10 engine will still be around for a while. I just hope the price on a used Huracan LP580 will come down to my price range one day soon. Lol!

705M wheels?

I wonder why the 705 M wheels are available for Germany but not UK. Will they be available for the U.S. model?

Some countries will get the 20" as standard. In the f10 and f13 generation in NZ we only ever got the 20" 343m or 601m options
