Official word form BMW:
5 SERIES INDIVIDUAL UPHOLSTERY PRODUCTION STOP
Due to a supplier issue individual and special order upholstery will not be available for production in the months November 2017 through February 2018. The options will be removed from ordering system and reactivated for March 2018 production.
