Section 8 of the technical reference manual covers these features but doesn't answer your question :-(
Knowing how BMWs work, I would have expected the the car to default to comfort mode every time you switch off. Hopefully Bmw have finally clocked that we don't want to keep having to do that, same for things like adaptive lights etc
One very useful thing is that in sport mode you customise transmission, dampers, steering, engine and seat back width adjustment individually!!
