Yes, it turns Adaptive off. Adaptive is a control profile just as comfort, eco pro, sport,... are. Think of these as computer programs that control various parts of the car in specific ways. VDC is just one of the hardware modules that get's controlled, if available. VDC is still doing things in control profiles other than adaptive so it's not like we wasted our money....
