BMW doesn't "Think" anything, buyers think bigger is better, so every single manufacturer including BMW makes their cars slightly bigger in each iteration.

Also apparently people want their BMWs look like a Lexus. I saw a new 330 today and it wasn't until I actually saw the BMW roundel that saw it wasn't a new Lexus from the back. So I guess you are right. BMW doesn't "think" anymore. It just follows.
