MS FS2020 Reno Air Races

Well, it is Sim Racing. Heh!

Flying around pylons is pretty challenging and very 3D. There is wake turbulence from leading aircraft and high G loads in the turns cause the airplane to slow down a bit - just like the real thing. It is a constant juggle between not rounding the corners too much and not pulling excessive G's. Also, getting as close to the pylons as possible without making a cut, resulting in a big time penalty. Really fun.

There are 4 racing classes including jets, unlimited, T-6 and biplanes.

Unfortunately, FS2020 requires a pretty beefy gaming computer to get decent frame rates. I recently upgraded my computer to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-core CPU and matching ASUS Hero gaming motherboard - halfway there. A new GeForce nVidia RTX 3080 10GB video card is on the way, plus a new Alienware 27" 4K gaming monitor.
