Engineering, development cost and manufacturing are significantly more expensive and more complicated for hybrid vehicles. Unless there is a guarantee that the vehicle will sell in large volumes, companies won't make enough on each vehicle compared to a purely EV or ICE car to justify the significant investments made up front. Not saying it's impossible, but highly unlikely.

I think BMW has made it clear that gasoline engines are probably going to live on for a bit in their cars, they wouldn't be releasing new engines otherwise. This is BMW we're talking about, there's a fat profit margin built into every car.
