Im not sure how big the US market is for JLR, but for UK their plans to go electric tie in with Government Policy that no new Fossil Fuelled cars can be sold from 2030. Again, not sure if the US have similar goals.
It will also tie in with this which is on the JLR HQ / Factory doorstep

I assume others to take advantage of this gigafactory will be Lotus who have moved closer to this site, Aston Martin, LEVC (London black cab company and Volvo via Geely), and BMW i think with their plants within 100miles of this site.
