Ummm... I'm not sure that concern has ever crossed my mind having lived most of my life in FL. I lived on the beach for a few years and I recall my car at the time would get sand all over the engine bay and inside the air filter housing.
Now I live like 2-3 miles from the beach and never see sand or anything like that. I would have taken the car out last night if I really had somewhere to go. This morning it's dry with tiny sprinkles passing by every so often. No concerns at all.
