After selling my 2012 E82 1 Series M Coupe, I bought a 2019 5 Series G30 530d M Sport. Why? Because I'm a 75 year old grandpa wanting to do more highway cruising, than neck-snapping scorching starts etc.

I have my music on a 1Tb USB hard drive. On the E82, the external USB drive would appear on the screen and I could select any folder, sub-folder, album, tune etc. No worries. Beautiful!

However, on the G30, when I scroll to USB devices on My Media, the message I get is "USB device not compatible".

Is that because my external hard drive is not formatted FAT32? I don't now how it was formatted, because it always worked on my E82.
