Again, if you change your oil based on mileage…like every 5000 miles…then do the CBS reset when you do your oil change at 10k miles. This way you don’t screw up the service interval warnings or have to deal with a service reset warning for 6 months. There’s no need to do a service reset if you change your oil earlier than the programmed interval. Just go ahead and change your oil at the 5k. 10k, 15k, 20k, 25k, 30k intervals (etc)…but only do the service reset procedure at the 10k, 20k, 30k oil changes when the warning appears.
